8/15/2004 - Valve
The control of hot water, steam and chilled water are the most typical applications of vales in temperature controls. Simple on-off control of a control valve is typical for small load applications. Where the loads are greater, modulating the valve for accurate temperature control is necessary.

It is important that the control valve be sized properly to allow for an adequate pressure drop (1 to 3 psi) through the valve to be able to modulate it without hunting (over shooting and under shooting).
